Describing her style, Malin Lindahl states,? Tradition is in many ways a cornerstone of my work. I am nostalgic, but in a healthy way -- I look back in order to see the path ahead!"

Malin is one of the younger generations of designers who find much of her inspiration in the past. Her innovative and open-minded approach allows her to make use of many older glassmaking techniques, such as engraving and blasting.

The luster and transparency of the clear crystal, its endless possibilities of creating surprising optical effects, are a constant source of inspiration to her as she tries to come up with new combinations of shapes and patterns.

In her early years with Orrefors, Malin has taken a look back in time, both probing the history of the glassworks and Swedish folk art. In her new Dizzy Diamond vases, she explores the classic optic technique to produce a set of functional, decorative vases with more than a hint of luxury.
